SO, WHAT'S THIS "ONBOARDING" THING?
Remote Year Onboarding is the period of time after you’ve made your initial down payment, but before your Remote Year program has launched.
Your Program Placement Consultant will introduce you to the Onboarding Team within a day or two of receiving your down payment. We know you likely had close one-on-one and high-touch relationship with your Program Placement Consultant. While we strive to build a personal relationship with each Premote, you'll receive less emails, calls and texts from us throughout the course of your Onboarding experience. This doesn't mean we don't want to hear from you, though—we'll just rely on you to reach out to us with your questions, requests and feedback!
WHO'S GUIDING ME THROUGH ONBOARDING?
The Onboarding Team will help you get familiarized with Remote Year and prepare for your transition to the remote work and travel lifestyle.
Your main Onboarding guru is Reisy, and you'll likely also (virtually) see Rose around in the months and weeks leading up to your program's Arrival Day. You can learn more about these gals on the team page, but the most important takeaway to remember is that you have these humans as a dedicated resource for you. The Onboarding Team has knowledge to share, support to provide and inspiration through which they'll empower you. We are side-by-side with you, our Premotes, for months (sometimes an entire year!) before Arrival Day. Building authentic and meaningful relationships is our top priority.

We want you to feel empowered to own your Remote Year experience, starting with Onboarding. We'll help get your to-do list sorted, and answer your burning questions along the way.
WHAT'S MY ROLE HERE?
Onboarding is a bit like those "choose your own adventure" books you read when you were a kid—hang out and chat with us, just use our resources and links, or do a bit of both.
As a Premote (Pre-Remote), you can be as engaged as you'd like. We'll provide the map for your Onboarding journey, but it's not mandatory to follow it exactly, as we know everyone has their own pace and methodology when it comes to travel. Explore this Premote Hub thoroughly, attend as many webinars as you'd like, schedule a 1:1 with Reisy, read the Remote Year blog—the possibilities are endless! The Onboarding Team will continue to ramp up additional communications as your Arrival Day gets closer. Premotes are our source of energy and joy.
